Two great opportunities to get those classics out on the water where they belong.
Friday’s pre-event Bay to Lake Lighthouse Cruise and Docktails and Delights Cocktail Reception
Saturday evening’s Sunset Cruise and Classic Boat Parade
On the water? You bet! We’re getting ready to run those boats out to the Bay and the big Lake again in 2023! Will you be joining us?
If you are bringing a boat to our show, it makes sense to get out on the water and enjoy Door County’s excellent boating opportunities. To make that easy, we’re hosting two special cruises this year. The first is our annual Bay to Lake Lighthouse Cruise. When you register for the weekend at the “Prime” level for $40, you get to enjoy our pre-event Friday afternoon cruise and a pizza party complete with our signature complimentary cocktails. We call it, Docktails and Delights and it’s going to be great fun.
Friday’s Bay to Lake Lighthouse Cruise begins at 1PM at the Door County Maritime Museum. After a short skippers’ meeting we will board our boats and leave the festival’s docks to cruise northwest beneath Sturgeon Bay’s signature Steel Bridge, skirting Dunlap Reef and viewing the Great Lakes’ largest shipyard, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.

After a short 2.5-mile run, we’ll pause off-shore at the edge of Green Bay to view Sherwood Point Lighthouse (a great photo-op) before heading back beneath the bridges. We’ll head east a couple of miles beneath Bayview Bridge and enter the historic ship canal, stopping again when we reach glorious Lake Michigan and the distinctive Coast Guard Station and Lighthouses.

We’ll reverse course out on the big lake and complete our day’s 10-mile journey by returning to the museum’s show site to prepare for the Docktails and Delights reception. Join us for a variety of pizza selections and refreshing beverages at the museum. We’re planning an outdoor evening so that we can all enjoy a glorious Door County sunset and the company of your fellow classic boating fans.
Our second offering is our Sunset Cruise and Classic Boat Parade, open to all registered boats. We hope you’ll join in this no-extra-cost event. At 6:30 on Saturday evening shortly after dinner, we’ll board our classic boats and take a couple of slow laps around Sturgeon Bay’s inner harbor. We’re hoping you’ll dress in classic style to match your boat (or in something else unique) and if you want, decorate your craft. It’s an opportunity to show the public how much fun classic boating can be. Will you join us?

(Please note: If Small Craft Warnings/Advisories are posted, we will modify either event to fit the circumstances )
